Facebook

I dumped my Facebook account last week. I was finding that I was spending a lot more time on it than was really good for me. (Note: this is not a criticism of facebook or for my many faithful readers). Even in the past five days I have had kind of a "craving" or "jones-ing" when I get bored or have an extra 3 minutes.

But... I must get my message out. They people need to hear the truth. So I will not disappoint them. I'm going to start blogging again.

Sometimes I wish I had the guts to do that! There are definitely a lot of pros to Facebook, a huge one being that it's the most reliable way for me to communicate with most of the kids in my youth group, as well as the leaders and even some of the parents. However, there are cons too, like the huge waste of time that it can so easily be.

Maybe the best solution would just be to get some discipline to not fall into the time wasting...

Steve- I agree about the youth thing. i actually just re-activated today. I'll just be checking it daily so I can communicate with my youth and other basic communications.

However, every alcoholic dreams for the day where he can just have one socially... we'll see how long I can stay on the wagon.

I feel you on this one. I was going to delete my fb but I settled on a compromise with myself: I cleared my about me to bare essentials, deleted my history from the last two years (that took hrs)and resolved not to really post anymore clever status updates or links. Now attempting to use to stay in contact with ppl I might otherwise not see. We'll see how it goes.

Glad to see you writing on here again!

I am back on and have also compromised. I now check facebook daily for about 10 minutes and that's it. It feels much healthier than what I was doing.
