King of Kong- Fistful of Quarters

Did anybody else see this documentary? I watched it last week and have thought about it often. I really identify with the "good" character (the teacher) because I used to cry a lot. Now I'm jaded and too cynical to cry or really care much about anything.
Here is a short list of the best video games of all time.
1. Double Dribble
2. Tecmo Bowl (Original Nintendo)
3. Bond - Golden Eye (AKA Prximity Mines)
4. Mario Kart
5. Contra
6. Star Wars Battlefront II
7. Super Mario Brothers
8. Pitfall
9. 1913
10. RBI Baseball
Any that I missed? The movie was great. Kind of emotional and silly and depressinhg all at the same time.

Are you kidding me? This is one of the best documentaries ever. In addition to being my friend on myspace, Bill Weibe is my hero. Two thumbs up on this blog post. Well done.

hhaaha. Steve Weibe. I don't know who Bill Weibe is--I can not vouch for his Hero-ness.

I saw King of Kong several weeks ago, I thought it was great. It's insane how fiercely someone will hold onto something no matter how pithy it is if it's all they've really got going for them.

I'd add Lego Star Wars II to that list. It's clever and super fun. As far as classic games go, have you ever played "Little Ninja Brothers?" Hilarious. "River City Ransom" was great too. And Final Fantasy II for the Super Nintendo may be my favorite game of all time.

Holy Crap! Did you notice how much Billy looks like the Republican Jesus? Freaky.

Cat- I agree it was a great documentary. I was so surprised at the end too. it was seriously a nail biter. I hope there is a follow up sometime.

Wayne- are you saying move super mario up to the #3 spot or is there a game called super marion 3? It was a great game. I spent much of my childhood playing that game in my basement.

Steve- no offense, but I've never played any of those games and have only heard of two of them. I'm guessing they aren't very good. Is Final Fantasy II about the last year I played fantasy football? That could be fun.

Well, I'll have to check out this documentary. I wasn't ever big into video games except Mario Brothers and Duck Hunt. I conquered both of them with in an hour or so after we got the nintendo and my parents said new games were too expensive. I didn't care much either way. I went back to playing with my stuffed animals and ghost in the graveyard.

Christian,

I can't believe you haven't played those games (or heard of them).

I was going to say that you really should get out more, but I guess in this case it would be more accurate to say that you really should get IN more.

I just giggled out loud Steve. Thanks for finding my cutting and sarcastic comments humorous.

Oh, I think I saw a commercial for that "Fantasy" game last night at like 3am. Is there like several very attractive girls in the game that talk really sexy and want you to call them on the phone? Doesn't sound like my cup o tea. But I guess I'll have to give it a no score because I've never tried it.

Unless it's this girl calling you on the phone! Right?
